Justice and Repair is a racial justice initiative of repair .

Executive Director
Justice and Repair (J&R) is the Racial Justice initiative of the Africa Transitional Justice Legacy Fund (ATJLF). J & R promotes advocacy and global action on contemporary and historical crimes against the peoples of Africa and the Global African Diaspora.
The J & R initiative draws an important link between racial justice, reparations for mass atrocities and historical crimes, and racial healing for the African continent and the Global African Diaspora. The project adopts a holistic, inclusive, and multi-layered model for the promotion of reparations and racial healing through a racial justice lens. Using methods like; grant-making, convening events, research and documentation, and story-telling, the J & R initiative seeks the institutionalization of reparatory frameworks nationally, regionally, continentally, and globally, for the full pursuit of justice and repair of the harm caused to Africans and people of African descent.
The J & R initiative prioritizes partnerships with philanthropies, continental and regional African institutions, global networks, and civil society organizations on the African continent, and in the diaspora.
What We Do
WE PROMOTE
Reparatory Justice: We promote continental and global action to demand reparations for the slave trade, slavery, colonialism, neo-colonialism, and other mass atrocities through continental bodies and civil society organizations.
Consensus & Bridge-building: Through our work, we seek to connect advocacy groups in Africa and the global African diaspora for a common reparations agenda.
Racial Healing: We promote healing and repair for Africans and people of African descent for racial injustice and mass atrocities.
Movement Building & Solidarity: Through advocacy and grant-making, we strengthen civil society connections and solidarity to build a strong movement for healing and reparatory justice.
Education: Through convenings, publications, and creative story-telling, we set the agenda for preserving Africa’s narrative in documenting the history and legacies of mass atrocities and colonial crimes in Africa and the global black diaspora.
